I "earned" my bachelor's degree in electrical engineering almost 3 years ago. I put quotes around "earned" because I was that sorry sop of a student who struggled throughout college and only made it to the touchdown zone because he had good friends that dragged him along. I'm not saying I didn't put in massive amounts of time and energy, I definitely did. But I found myself drained, being a perfectionist at the time, by the constant feeling of lacking in knowledge and self-worth as I saw others succeed around me. Sad. That being said, I've also heard that getting a bachelor's in electrical engineering is nearly, if not equivocally, as difficult as medical school and after my experiences, I believe it. (I have no real grounds to make such a claim myself since I did go nor personally know anyone who has been through medical school and explained their experiences to me).
Phew. Okay, so, electronics are hard!!! Got that down.
I want to make learning about electronics and how to design/create them easy and fun for you and for me. I know a good way to do that is REAL WORLD APPLICATION. That's right, by doing projects, we'll learn more than we ever could in a classroom setting or through some watching some youtube video of someone else doing it and then never doing it yourself (guilty). My plan here is to 1. Design/plan fun and creative projects, 2. Write out step-by-step processes to complete said projects, and 3. Post my experience and results with the projects.
I win because I get to live my dream as a hobbyist and, dare I say, inventor. I also get to help others in their learning journey and self-discovery of what their interested in. Overall, you win too because you get free access to fun projects that can help you learn more about electronics and electrical engineering in general.
I'll also be posted opensource code that supports each project, bills of materials (BOMs), timelines (for the lengthier projects), supporting documentation, supporting posts explaining relevant topics, and anything else you might expect from a well-put together project database.
I'm excited to start this blog and hope we have the time of our lives exploring what we can do with electronics!
Now let's get started!
Los geht's!
